WebSep 16, 2014 · Some times the pva or bonding agent loosens up bad artex and if you don't notice and skim it the plaster will peel off with the artex. To avoid, make sure the artex feels solid when pva'd. If not you'll have to scrape off all the loose stuff and re pva. If the artex has a poor bond with the ceiling, bonding agent won't help, it's got to come off. WebOct 18, 2008 · Bod1 Member. Have a couple of jobs where I have to paint lightly textured artex ceiling in 10 year old houses. My thoughts were 1 mist coat and 1 finish coat of Dulux vinyl matt or Supermatt. I have never used a sheepskin - would this be better than my usual medium pile microfibre rollers - hoping it would hold more paint and splash less.
