WebMoving on. Both mesmer and thief are generally played really bursty and squishy. Mesmer gameplay really isn't about "creating copies" and "tricking" opponents to hit them. In reality, no one decently experienced will be "tricked" by clones, and the gameplay is more about creating lots of minions and sending them to explode on opponents.
