I've had my ears pierced a few times (multiple holes, holes closed etc) and the gun is fast, hygienic, and safe. It's much easier to use the gun and have the earring be what pierced vs. first a needle then an earring. My opinion is your pedi has done piercings before and uses the gun because it works well.
