It shouldn't die. Most likely you are not getting a good +12V to the unit. The ECU doesn't respond well to a weak electrical system. Be sure you have +12V at start and more once the alternator kicks in.

WebMay 29, 2024 · You will more than likely have to turn it 2 or 3 clicks clockwise I believe to get it to idle. you will notice the difference right away. Make sure it is between 3 and 10. no more. no less. It should settle into idling as soon as those numbers are there. If they aren't, then it is another issue.
