Then I left the axes mappings as default. I actually Changed the CURVE to -4 for the X and Y axes just to make sure there was no deadzone in game.

I dont know if you have alrady solved the probelm, but sometimes all you have to do is go into the game files; data, imput and then delete a .txt file named devices. That worked for me. When you relaunch the game it should recreate that file but recognising your joystick.
